Hillside Public Schools' K–3 Climate Literacy Pilot Teachers are kicking off an exciting year as part of the New Jersey Department of Education (@newjerseydoe) Climate Literacy Grant! Mr. Stuart Newman, Bureau Chief of the Bureau of Recycling & Planning from the County of Union Department of Engineering, Public Works & Facilities Management, shared an engaging overview of sustainability and climate change topics that are especially relevant to Union County! Our teachers then collaborated to design student-led resilience projects that will empower students to take action throughout the year. Many thanks to Mr. Newman and the NJDOE for making this project possible and helping our youngest learners become leaders for a more sustainable future! @unioncountynj
